Broken LCD on DVX100A Please HELP!!!

Ok so my business partner setup a sunpak tripod ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sunpak+...opod/8480636.p?id=1185268654383&skuId=8480636 )

We purchased this tripod last week, anyway he set it up outside, it was windy out but the one clip to lock the bottom half of the leg hasn't been working great since we got it. Well it was a little breezy and the whole tripod just collapse on the one leg and the lcd monitor built into the dvx100a hits the ground, and now when you turn it on its just a black screen but the view finder still works, but we really need the lcd monitor working again, what can we do?

I would take this as a sign that you should try an external monitor. Not only would it be bigger and easier to focus, but you could also "unsqueeze" your view when shooting in squeeze mode.
