a terrible thing happened today- i´m shooting for a small production in argentina, and my DVX sustained a short fall while the LCD screen was out. everything seems to be working fine, except the LCD screen hinge seems dinged up and the screen doesn´t close. it seems like a cosmetic problem, maybe someone who knew what they were doing could just pop it back in, but i´m not sure how complicated these things are.
does anyone have experience with getting their camera serviced? i wondering how complicated it will be to fix the LCD hinge, and also how expensive!
the camera is brand new (what crappy luck).
I´m assuming that this cannot be covered by the warranty, since it was due to an accident.
the situation is also more complicated because as i said, i´m in argentina.
i found a panasonic servicing place down here and am scheduled to go in tomorrow, but in the mean time, i´m climbing the walls.
any info at all would be appreciated.
