[FS: General] Broken HVR-A1U w/ two extended batteries and original battery

Hello!

I am trying to get rid of a Sony HVR-A1U with a couple of extended batteries. The thing is that the touch screen is not working, and that practically renders the camera useless. The good news is that this is a problem that is fixable, for the internal cable that connects the screen to the camcorder is all that needs to be replaced.

The camera is also missing A/V cables, but seeing that I operate with Firewire, I've just never had to use them. The AC adapter is not included, but the batteries do have a wall charger. There are a few minor scuffs (not even noticeable) on the cam after years of use. Basically, this camera has seen a lot, and I'm just wondering if someone else would give it a good home. It is fantastic for documentary work, and it's great for operations where a larger camera just would not work. I put it through a lot, and I loved it.

I don't know anyone locally that will fix it, and honestly, I just can't afford to fix it right now. That's simply why I'm wanting to sell it. I do currently have a Panasonic AG-AC130 on its way (that will see better days than this HVR-A1U, my first camera ever).

If you're up for taking this thing in, just let me know. Like I said, it's fixable. I will set the starting price at $1500, but I understand it could (should) go very well for a lower price. Shoot me an email at jlockhart@jxhart.com or PM me with a better offer.

Thanks
