Broken DVX Screen

I found a used DVX on ebay which has the screen detached from the camera. Anybody have any ideas how much it cost to repair it?

Here's a link to the pics of it:

If It's over 300 bucks it's not really worth it, since they have other undamaged cams. on ebay.

I also have a question on another topic: The firewire output, does that output 4:2:2 or is it also in 4:1:1?

FW output whatever is recorded on the tape since by that point the compression has already occurred. On the DVX it would be 4:1:1.

No idea how much it will cost to repair, but Panasonic will charge you for the cost of a replacement part regardless of whether the old panel is fine or not.

Your best bet is to just look for an undamaged DVX from a reliable seller like B&H or Adorama. Take a look at their used department on their website. They are both sellers I trust and have purchased a lot of equipment from them.

As far as compression goes, any way you want to output, you will end up with DV 4:1:1 footage. Every output on the camera is after compression.

I recently had to repair my dvx's LCD (sad story). just the LCD part was 650. thats not including labor costs.
