TheYankee said:I got my Broken DVD this past Tuesday. Watched it. There are a lot of things that can be said about this movie, so I will try to be as concise as possible for me:
Pros:
It's got a good story. The acting is good. The camera movement and cinematography in general looks great. Some of the special effects are incredible. The extras on the DVD are priceless, it is certainly educational and motivating in a 'Rebel without a Crew' sort of way. The main female character is good, and the antagonist is a really good actor, great find there. The tension that builds is really good. Music and sound are all top notch.
Cons:
The character Christian. His acting almost pulls you out of what you are watching. Also, some of the richocet bullet hits just don't look right. Finally, there are one or two shots that look very mini DV like, this takes you out of the whole 'film' feel.
Overall, I would recommend a purchase to anyone thinking about it. It has a good feel, and it's a great product.

My compliments on the film... I'm going to buy a couple more copies to as presents to film making cronies... there is a lot to be learned.
Wondering if you wouldn't mind answering this if you don't mind.
Of your 8K, what was the biggest expense? Was it to the special effects supervisor? Did you shell out the money to pay all actors and crew? Did the actors work under SAG contract?
The big question for each indie filmmaker is really how to spend each precious penny... I usually work with all unpaid people, but you get what you pay for...
Clearly, every dime of that 8 grand was well spent, so it would helpful to know if you just paid for it as if it was feature length?
Craig Bellaire said:OK. I ordered mine today...Seems like an interesting DVD. One thing I couldn't find... Is the FULL 15 min short on the DVD... I'm sure this is a silly question... thanks
