"Broken" - A script in need of a filmmaker...

This has gone totally off topic....but "The Piano has been drinking" has always been one of my favorites....
...actually, that whole album is great (small change).

Tom Waits is a favorite of mine, too. Chris mentioned Night on Earth, but I really like the opening shots of Down By Law: the down-and-out streets of New Orleans flowing by with "Jockey Full of Bourbon" playing on the soundtrack.

Yeah - The opening is amazing! The combination of Waits's song and those drive by shots of New Orleans definitely stays on your retina!

So is the Tom Waits inspiration just a really heavy baseline over the course of the piece or has the raspy bourbon voice designed the writing?

Some of the images were nice. Reminded me a bit of the underrated "Wolf Girl". The dialog needs some work though.

The plot is also a tad predictable. While I was glad at the lack of twist... it just all slid together too logically, too formulaic for me. With a script at these levels of demands, it seems like it could have done much, much more.

But, as I said, nice images.

I think music just helps sets the mood when I am writing. It helps me get in touch with the emotions to which I am trying to connect.

It does need some work at the end I think. It's too abrupt. But there is some truly exceptional stuff here. I could very clearly see it in my mind as I read it. Great job!
