Broke DVX pricing survey

Hopefully you won't find this odd or annoying,

But I have a DVX100B that fell off a tripod.

Paid 2500 for it new, has very little hours on it.

The wire attaching to the focus ring is broke, so it's autofocus only, but you can still set it to manual focus and use the autofocus button so the focus is constant. Another problem is the viewfinder doesn't work anymore.

Other than that, it still works - ie can record video and sound, only you need the eyecup as the VF is busted plus using auto only, or pseudo manual with the button.

It'll probably cost $1500 to repair, which is too much vs. the final cost of the camera - I was thinking of selling it AS IS on eBay, but really don't want to get a lowball bid, or pay eBays fees if no one wants to buy it etc.

So just curious, what would you think a cam in this condition is worth?

Is there any shot at $500? Considering you could still record with it aside from said problems, I'm thinking there may be takers - still getting a 3 chip 24p cam for 500 wouldn't be a terrible idea...at least I hope. Any thoughts on selling it as is, or should I just keep it in the shelf as a stationary backup cam?

PS - not trying to sell it here, so hopefully no one takes it that way - just wondering if it's even worth putting up on eBay.

yeah $500.00 seems fair... especially if the camera has very few hours on it... it is definitely still a great B camera.
