Broadcasting 24p ?

I am running into a bit of a problem with some broadcasters with 24p footage.

Here is the workflow.

I shoot 24p (NOT 24PA) on my DVX 100B

I capture footage into Avid at 30i NTSC

I edit and send the footage VIA Quick Time reference to Sorenson Squeeze.

I encode an Interlaced Mpeg 2 file. I have tried Top and Bottom field dominance settings.

I upload to broadcasters and they drop the files into their playback on air servers. everything looks good, until broadcast, then footage seems jittery.

Any Ideas....Barry or other DVX gurus.

When you capture into Avid, are you taking the DV stream through a Mojo or just straight firewire? Also - I've seen Squeeze do some equally brilliant and weird things. I don't know - just throwing some preliminary stuff out there. Hard to know without digging into your workflow a little more.

I've shot some stuff on my GS300 for a local TV network and have always given them the edited DV AVI back for broadcast and no problems, leave it to them to encode for broadcast. Capture DV AVI via firewire, edit and encode back to tape, DV AVI. Also this way, if things go wrong, you've given them DV footage, not some other format you've encoded to that differs from the original native footage that might lead to a fault of your own.
