I'm selling my older, but well-maintained, Sony Betacam SP camcorder. $900, shipping included to US/lower 48.
The particulars:
BVV-5 recorder SN 14832
BVP-7 camera head SN 10281
Fujinon Pegasus zoom A14x9BERM-28 with doubler
viewfinder: Ampex SN 007a-00920
Condition:
General: excellent working condition, this has been one of my personal cameras, maintained by network engineers. A solid, rugged, broadcast ENG camera, one of Sony's flagship units of its day. It still makes images that rival many current models. Any known faults noted below:
BVV-5 recorder module: excellent cosmetic condition, 900 hours on head counter. All dials, knobs, controls and switches working, records perfectly, lightly used since last engineering checkup, no known problems. Dual NP-1 Battery pack holder, one lid has a slight crack but can be easily cemented to repair. Does not affect usability.
BVP-7: cosmetic wear (paint chipping and worn foam, typical of these units). Nothing so worn as to interfere with function. HAD CCD. All switches & knobs & functions are in perfect working condition. A couple of stuck pixels visible ONLY at 18db gain. If you look very closely inside the lens port at the blue glass that covers the CCD, there are a couple of slight "smudges" that appear to be on the inside surface of that blue glass, but they don't seem to affect the picture and I assume a competent engineer can clean it if you wanted to. They've been there as long as I've owned the camera. It does NOT appear to be fungus.
Fujinon lens: all functions work perfectly. No visible scratches on front or rear elements. No fungus or visible imperfections. Almost NO cosmetic wear. Generic front lens cap but I don't think I have a rear cap or body cap anymore.
Viewfinder: all functions are perfect, bright and clear. Some cosmetic wear. Swivel is slightly loose. No rubber eyecup (I used a nylon "I-Cuff" since I wear glasses.) It will cost you about $75 to replace the eyecup, either with an OEM rubber eyecup or an I-Cuff.
Also includes a non-OEM AC power supply and an IDX charger for NP-1's, and four NP-1 batteries that all need replacement or recelling.
Also includes a Portabrace case in good used condition.
This camera makes great images. I've described it as accurately as possible, but due to its age I can only warrant non-DOA. Otherwise, I'm selling it strictly as-is, so please ask me any questions you have before you buy.
If someone can tell me an easy way/place to host images, I'd be happy to post a link here. Otherwise, I can email pics to you.
