So I have been up filming, PressPass an all. Never filmed anything like this before and just shooting my heart. Dealing with bad audio with the on baord mic, but oh well. I have already 80gigs of footage.

And have talked to many people. Here are a couple stills. I know Barry is at Telle Film Fest. Wish I could haev Tagged along to see how you shoot one of these, and how you handle the audio through just the camera onboard mic :)

Can you name any of these people?

Shots look good, but some of them need some more lighting.

The woman seems incredibly flat in this. Along with more light to pop them out, you need an eye light to get more eye detail. Do you see the difference in the eyes of the man on the left and the woman on the right?

THe other grabs look good though. Not sure if you even have control over the lighting in all situations, but bringing along a little bit of portable gear would definitely help you out.

I noticed that too... Absolutley no bulge on her chest. All the lighting in the world couldn't fix that however.

I was sometimes 30 feet away sometimes.. And they did NOT have ANY lighting. This is a small, no media or media attention festival. I wish they would have provided, but who doesnt:)

If you look at the picture with the filmmakers forum. (There are 5 people) You can see the lighting is great in the middle ( five reseded lights in the hotel ceiling) and nothing to the right and left. So it was frustrating.

As for the womans chest, You can see it in the link you provided picture. It is an almost neck up shot. Maybe you meant the filmmakers forums panel. If so. Lighting would have been nice, yes. And for you a tighter shirt. But when it is snowing. people are hessitant about not wearing something warm. :)

I pulled some still frames from the Film Festival Barry Green was at called Telluride Film Fest. You'll see even a big film fest in the seconds tear doesn't get the best of lighting situations. I hope Barry can respond and tell give me some feedback as well.

Considering you were at the mercy of the available lighting situation, what settings did you use to shoot? How did you feel about noise and banding?

Thanks,
Jason

I used F1 (which I believe is normal) and did not play with the settings a whole lot. I never noticed any banding, and noise was not a major issues. Those stills are NOT color corrected, so I am sure after I editing a lot of time will go into the CC process.
