Just got my latest 150 video footage of Choro Famoso published on the Centrum web site. (www.centrum.org). Choro Famoso is playing their encore from their set at Wheeler Auditorium in Port Townsend WA. Nothing fancy here, as I didn't have a second camera to add close ups (and Centrum didn't want us to bother the paying audience).
Choro is a Brazilian music style, similar to early American ragtime jazz. Both developed about the same time, but Choro has continued to evolve. Choro Famoso plays a wide range of it, and the tune we used here is from the late 1940s, updated to a modern sound.
This was shot with a 150, about 85 feet away, 720 x 24p, with sound fed from the board via XLR in. Interestingly enough, the band felt the mix for the percussion and guitar was too low. Points out that you might help the band by allowing them to view footage you might shoot during the sound check. Gives them a chance to tune things like that before the concert.
