I am very interested in your Sennheiser package however B&H sells a package including:
ME66/K6 Mic capsule
K6 Battery/Phatom Supply
Brand new for: $450.00
I know how sensitive audio equipment can be and I was told not to go into the used market for that but if you can make a better offer (the foam windscreen, shockmount, and case isn't enough incentive for me to try and save money on the most important part of the kit: the mic). Maybe forr my peace of mind and to be absolutely safe I should go with B&H but I am willing to be persuaded.
I guess my other note would be: after doing sound tests, your conclusion as to selling it after so little use: what gives? The mic no good with the dvx100a?
The Sennheiser K66 is an electret condeser mic no? A supercardioid. So I'm guessing you did out door testings with this mic? How are the accoustics/ echo using the mic in indoor/ small room settings? The other longer slectret condeser mic I was looking to getting was AudioTechnica's AT815B. Everyone seems to be raving about this one and at $289.20 after tax and shipping from B&H, I am caught between the fence.
Perhaps someone can shed some light to my predicament. Also, what're some good short indoor mics to use. I had my heart set on the AT4073a but it'sa true condensor mic with a four figure price tag- ouch. I guess I'm looking to invest in the ballpark figure of 400 USD each for one outdoor mic and one indoor mic. No particular preference as to it being phatom powered or not. Much thanks.
