I had a problem with sound when i got my new DVX. Recorded sound has some strange high pitch noise. I've posted about this problem earlier.

As everyone mentioned before be aware where you get your camera. After a lot of research i got mine from EVS Online.

The price was good but what really stunned me was the service. It's perfect. I've dealt with Ryan. They exchanged my cam with no problems. Exchange camera works like a charm. I'm really happy that i went with them.

Just hope I will never have to deal with Panasonic.
I had very unpleasant experience with Pana.

No problem at all until now (about 2 months), I just need a matte box for sure to take full advantage of the camera in differents conditions, Bogen or Cavision seem a good choice.

I got my 100A about two months ago. Got this problem: auto zooming not running stable for the first half second (usually when I zoom from widest). Nobody face this problem before? If you say why not use manual zoom, my answer is, it's difficult to get smooth manual zoom with such a loosy zoom ring.

Secondly, I find the stablelizer not "stable enough". Maybe because I've a bad shaking hands! But I find Sony PD150's stablelizer works better for me.

Beside these problems, the camera is really great! Easy to get shallow DOF, fantastic full image control that allows me to adjust for handling every different situations. Progressive pictures looks great! And manual controls are just greatly placed on the camera.

That math is real fuzzzzzy. Buy the camera with a warranty and chill out.

You're looking at the best little cam in the world! I've had mine since it first came out - zero issues. Solid piece of equipment.

I've always used a soft cloth and Endust for Electronics for the cleaning of any LCD panel (monitor, laptop, cams, etc..). It can be a little hard to find but snag up as much as you can when you do. Its available in pump or aerosol and will not leave streaks of anykind!

I just got my DVX100A and I'm definitely benefitting from this site and this thread in particular to ensure I have a flawless masterpiece.

Only issue I have is mine records jumpy video at the beginning of new tapes. Usually happens within the first few minutes. I use the recommended Panny tapes. To workaround I just record black or color bars for a few minutes before starting a new tape. The cam is still not really broken in yet. Maybe a new box of tapes won't have this problem. Maybe it's the camera and I'm stuck with it. I dunno.

If anyone knows a a fix I'm all ears.

Were all plants sent here on panasonics payroll.. Thats why the camera is 3,500$ so that they can pay us to  be here and tell everyone how great it is when in reality its a worthless piece of **** ;)

As I just got my DVX100a I bought it at BirnsandSawyer in Hollywood and I missed the 25 dollar class on it. When I rewind a tape while viewing it in the LCD, I get massive pixellation. Even my little Sony 500 dollar jobby does not do this. Is this normal or does everyone know this and I am just the l'idiot du jour? Beside that, it is a pretty good little camera.

Me too experienced a cylinder lock error like some others in the forum, whilst at 14hours on the meter. Sent it to the Panasonic Service Centre, and after a week, was ready went back to collect it. It was covered under warranty and FOC. I think they just replaced the cylinder.
