BRAND NEW!! Complete Small Product Lighting Kit

Norm Sanders

I won an e-bay auction with Amvona, not realizing that the lights were more suitable for product as compared to portrait/scene lighting. I don't have any use for product lighting, so I'm hoping to unload these at cost.

Here's a link to the exact product/specs with Amvona.com: http://www.amvona.com/v7/shop/?page=shop/flypage&view=1&product_id=2063

These lights sell through the website for over $600 for the kit ... I won the auction for $180 + $45 in shipping ($225 total).

Whoever would like to take these off my hands at cost, plus shipping expenses to get them to you, can have them. Please PM me, or post questions here.

What about them makes them unsuitable for portraiture? They look like two softboxes; granted the inserts may be handy for small products, but that doesn't mean you couldn't use these for general lighting purposes... if they're not junk, two softbox lights with stands for under $200 seems like a pretty good deal...

Ultimately, it comes down to not wanting to lay down too much cash right now, and instead wanting to put that money towards their three point light kit which comes with larger soft boxes, as well as 1K AND 500w bulbs: http://www.amvona.com/v7/shop/?page=shop/flypage&view=1&product_id=2445

There's a thread on the DVX board asking about Amvona. The feedback has been that all of their stuff has been a good value for the money, and in some cases an INSANE value for the money (specifically their C-Stands) ... the only place where they seem to get you, at times, is in the shipping.

So, while I believe they're a good value for the money, I'm wanting a larger set of boxes/lights, and hope to have the money towards that instead of this kit AND the other one.

So, Barry, where do you want me to ship your new two light kit to? Just kidding.

Seriously, folks, take advantage of the good deal I got on these & PLEASE take them off my hands.

Thanks, Chris. Something to add, which Chris helped me realize in a PM ...

I JUST won these lights yesterday, and have yet to pay for them. If someone's interested in these, I can have the shipping adjusted so they're sent directly to them from Amvona, which will not only save time, but it'd save them the extra expense of having me ship to them as well.

So, for those interested in getting them for $225 total, please PM me immediately. You can pay my Paypal account, which I can immediately turn around & pay for the lights, having them shipped direct to your address ... I'd e-mail you a receipt the same day.

Seems like a great deal to me; I am so *not* in the market right now though, in fact I'm going to be getting rid of some stuff here soon. But for $180 I don't see how anyone would be going wrong by getting these... I mean, granted I've never seen 'em, but -- come on, $90 each for a softbox & 500w light on a stand? That's a steal.

I'm not sure if posting a link works, as it would point to my side of the auction, which I'm guessing will show my account info, etc. (I'm still fairly new to all this, making my first purchase through E-Bay only about 1-2 weeks ago).

But, here's the item number, which if you put into the E-Bay search bar, should pull it up directly to show what it was won for, by whom, etc.

E-Bay Item Number: 7580424408

Joe, I've sent you a PM back ..

Just a heads up that I FINALLY rec'd my reversable green/blue screen from them. Paid on the 12th, and didn't receive it until the 26th. They're not to quick to get the product out the doors, apparently.

Hey Envision-

How's the quality of that screen? I'm really really curious about their lights (and equipment in general), being such a good deal and all. So if you do end up getting that soft-kit, please please please, write us a thorough review here. Or maybe whoever ended up buying that first kit off you could give us some words of wisdom as to its quality?

It took me a while to get the screen, so hopefully Joe gets his lights soon.

The screen seems like a great quality/value for the money. My only concern with it is all the wrinkles, which is expected with anything that folds up ... though I've yet to test a key with it (hopefully will do so soon), I believe I'll simply need to hit it a little harder & from more directions with good lighting to get rid of the wrinkles/shadows.

When I get some lights (hoping to win what I'm aiming for real soon), I'll let you know, post pics, etc.

Just incase JoeNash doesn't make it over here for a while, I just heard from him via PM today and he'd rec'd the lights abotu 2 weeks ago (faster than I thought he would!). Said he love's them. I've asked him to post a quick review or something in here for everyone's benefit. Hopefully he'll have time to do it.

As soon as I get my lights, I'll do the same.

hey guys,
well i got my lights about 2 weeks ago, and i could not be any happier.

such a great bang for buck, i did some tests with that (i'll post in a week or two), set-up was super quick, the packaging was super safe, and it comes in a great case for transportability. The lights came with 6 bulbs in total (i think), and the produce a great light, the softbox gives great lighting for DV, and helped a LOT my lowlight situation i set up, other than that there great lowbudget lights for any shoe-string filmmakers outthere like me, msg me if u have any questions or want me to go indepth about something, peace all.

Cool deal, Joe, thanks! Glad it worked out that way too, to have the purchase run through E-Bay to go direct to you, so it saved the time & extra shipping expense as well.

If anyone wants me to watch for other similar deals on E-Bay & be their "shopper", let me know. (nominal fee, of course!) It's kind of fun & a rush when you actually get the good deals. :)
