Brain Freeze: how to apply a filter to an entire timeline?

Subject line says it all. I want to apply a filter to all the clips in my timeline but can't seem to remember how to do it. It's a lengthy timeline with hundreds of cute so doing it clip by clip would take forever. Thanks.

What he said. Alternatively apply it to first clip then copy the clip and paste attributes to all clips. Harder to undo though.

I tried that (nesting) initially but when I click on the nested clip to apply the filter it opens the original cut sequence. I'm sure I'm missing something here thanks in advance guys.

Right... double-clicking a nested sequence opens it back up. You have to drag-and-drop your filters.

Or right click on it and ask "Open in Viewer" (yes the sequence - not a clip) then use viewer tabs to go and manipulate the Audio/Video filter.

you can also select all the clips in the timeline, drag the plug to one and it will apply to everything that's actively selected.

The only caveat to what Zak mentioned... if the filter is clip-dependent and you want it to be timeline-dependent. For instance, if using the time code window to create a BITC version of your sequence, by applying to individual clips the TC display will change with every edit as it is reading the source TC per clip. But applying the filter to a nested sequence allows it to read from the sequence time code.
