Recently I shot and edited a video highlighting the ease of use of the Free Wavz wireless headphones during workouts. The video was shot primarily with our Sony F5 Cinealta camera. A GoPro Hero 3+ attached to a Phantom Quadcopter also was used for a few aerial shots. For many of the exercise shots such as the CrossFit sequence and Boxing sequences, I utilized the F5′s high frame rate capabilities and recorded at 180 frames per second. This allowed us to slow down and ramp up the video in post.

Free Wavz are wireless headphones made by Hear Gear and are designed for workouts. So to show off the freedom wireless headphones give you, we shot four “Vignettes” with different workouts, Boxing, Weight Lifting, CrossFit and Running.

The first 3 vignettes were shot in a gym while the running vignette was filmed along the causeway and riverfront in Melbourne, FL. The Sony F5 primarily shot with our 24-78mm f2.8 lens with a couple of shots utilizing our wide angle 12-24mm f4 lens and our 50mm f1.4 Zeiss prime lens. Lighting was primarily accomplished with Kino Flo Diva lights and Mole Richardson Baby and Tweeny LED lights.

Check out the finished video below.

Looks fantastic. Could you share a little more about the camera settings, gamma, capture format, etc? Were the run along shots under the bridge still the GoPro? They look a lot like the aerial shot. Very nice! thanks for sharing it.

Thanks for the compliment! We shot 1080p, 23.98 XAVC onto a 64 GB SxS Pro + card. I wish I had the AXS-R5 recorder to shoot it in 4k but alas I don't have the budget for that yet. For all the gym shots, I just used the built-in HG2 gamma setting. The outdoor running shots, however, were shot mostly in S-Log2 so that I would have more flexibility in post. The only GoPro Quadcopter shot that made it into the video is of the girls running along the bridge @ 1:02. The under the bridge shots were actually shot handheld with the F5. Of course, shooting handheld is a lot easier when you're recording 180 fps. I shot 1/500th shutter on almost all of the 180 fps shots. A few times I didn't have enough light so I shot 1/250th instead. Glad you like it!
