SHORT: Bourne Legacy Re-creation

So this month I participated in the Film Riot Monday Challenge which was to recreate a 2min scene from a film.

We chose The Bourne Legacy.

The major disadvantage about where we were shooting is that the bridge above us was actually a highway so that's why you hear so may cars in our version. But we had driven around for over 2 hours just to find the location and it was the closest we manged to find. Behind the Scenes footage to follow probably next week.

wow, what an incredible learning experience- its like the way apprentice painters would copy the masters. I might try this. we always talk smack about Hollywood movies but this makes it obvious that there's more simple, bold, raw conflict in the average movie scene then you can see if you piled up 50 amateur shorts. also shows you that amateurs tend to not frame tightly enough- that's the biggest difference between yours and the original. also theirs is darker/more low key. also, ----put the actors closer----- another big lesson I just got from this. on set, actors might be unnaturally close sometimes (I had hints of learning this, in my own work, this confirms it- youre sometimes not getting the exact composition they got cause youre letting the actors roam too far). man, I gotta try this. good work though like I said you probably learned a crapload thats what counts with something like this I think.

Sure did learn a lot! I reccomend this kind of exercise to every new (and even not new) filmmaker!!

I do have an excuse with the framing but I won't go into that because I hate excuses :P

First off...what a cool contest. I need to get in on this. Second, I just went to comparison shot, that was very well done, the look, the feel...nice! don't worry about the car audio...yeah it hurts it but sometimes you just have to shoot where you can to pull off the shot. Locations can be tough with no budget :)
