Bought a House

It may come in handy to know that most landlords are quite amenable to changes in the lease end date if their departing tenants are instrumental in providing a seamless transfer to a new, qualified tenant.

Depends on what the lease says. It may auto-renew for another 6 months. Or it may just go MTM. I'd bet you'll be on the hook for at least another month in any case, though.

It doesn't auto renew because when our original 6 months was up, we had to re up it. So you think they'll charge us for January even though we are moving out mid December?

Just spent the last hour on CrimeReports.org, quite addicting. Unbelievable how many registered sex offenders are in LA.

Most leases, regardless if the lease is in month-to-month basis, require you give a 30-day written notice that you are leaving, they won't charge you for the coming month, but they will take your security deposit. That's how it usually goes.

We are homeowners, and I'm already exhausted... spent the last hour getting services and utilities turned on. Still not all finished yet....

Congratulations!

One of the nice things about our place is that there are orange trees productive enough so that I can make marmalade. I'll save a jar for your housewarming!

Painting begins tomorrow! We have a lot of clean up and stuff to do this weekend! Busy but fun because it's our home :)

Burbank has not historically been a place for frequent big destructive wildfires.

Which is not to say that it could never happen.

Ext is in great condition, I love the neighborhood but the entire interior needs updating.
The downstairs has 5 micro sized bedrooms. Some walls would need to be knocked down and rooms combined to create three normal sized rooms.
The bathrooms all need to be brought up to date.
There's close to 4000 sq. ft to work with.
And the wrap around deck is killer.

It's a steal but requires a lot of work, probably at least 4 months with a full crew in there.
