I've been playing around with the Gh1 since I got it trying to learn it. I already own a T2i. I don't really know how to know if I'm getting the extra quality or not. I've tried just putting everything to full HD and such. When I put it to Motion JPEG and the high setting I can find it says my 8GB card can only record 8 minutes or so, but when I upload a clip it says it's 720p @ 30fps.
So, I switched to AVCHD at the FHD setting. My card crashes at about 8 seconds on this mode.....not surprising since it's a class 4 card at best (bought it awhile back before I knew about "Class" cards).
I'd appreciate anyone who could teach me how to get great reliable quality out of this hacked camera. I know I need to use a Class 10 card most likely. I have one in my T2i that I could use. What settings should I be using? I just want to be able to shoot great 1080p without mud. If someone could explain the settings that would be great. Thanks!

That's just information overload. I'm even more confused than I was before. Way too much random technical stuff when I don't even know how to tell if I have the hack, what version it is, etc. Everyone is talking about bitrates and such, but I didn't mess around with the Ptools (I don't even know what ptools really is). It's supposed to be a preinstalled hack, so I don't know which version, what patches I am able to use (how to install a patch), how to check it, how to change it, etc. I need some one on one instructions to understand this or I won't understand and will just have to let it go, sadly.
