Bought a FS100 last week, filmed a wedding yesterday

oh!

I filmed to 16GB SD cards and the FMU.. the FMU recorder can hold up to 707 minutes of the highest quality 24p video. the 16gb cards, I forget!

I used a Sigma 30 1.4, 24-70 2.8, Canon 70-200 2.8 and a Tokina 11-16 2.8..... But in this video, its all the 30 1.4

I really like how your blown out highlights look in the first and fourth shot. What picture profile did you shoot with? What is your knee set to? Thanks for the info

Welcome to the club! :) .... and I would recommend you to get Metabones Canon EF Lens to Sony NEX Smart Adapter http://conurus.com/sony/buy-eos-nex-adapter

I've got it and it's work PERFECT!! At first I took little tube and make hard support to it:

..and now, when I torn "Iris wheel" on FS-100 - it change the aperture of any of my Canon-mount Lenses! -->

... and Image Stabilization work perfect with my Canon 70-200 F2.8 L IS lens! I tested my Canon 16-35L, 24-70L, 70-200/2.8 L IS and Sigma 50mm F1.4

..Also, as you have 24-70 lens, I would recommend you to make this " Matbox Extention" I did:

at first - usial problem with 24-70 is the different distance to front element:

So.. I'v got this...and cut it .. :)

.... I place it here ( Lens in 70mm position ) -->

Lens in 24mm position:

than.. I did this:

...and finally put black duct tape on it ...

MatBoxExtention24-70_07.jpg

...that's it! ..... I DON'T need to change the position of my matbox when I shoot with Canon 24-70mm Lens!!! :)

..and tomorrow I'll get new NiSi Fader ND filters Set !! -->

What kind of stabilizers did you use? Viewfinder? Follow Focus?

PS: Love the focus pull on the last shot.

I played with my picture profile a bit to get it kinda flat looking. I set the black to +7, gamma standard, knee 90% slope +2. detail +3.

Thanks! The variable ND filter I was using was up the whole way, so it gave it that effect of a blown out look in the middle of the image. This thing is KILLER is low light!

Thanks for the metabones pic, if that adapter was out and I had better EF glass I would certainly purchase it! But as of now, I just got some FD glass that I'm waiting for in the mail!

I used the Manfrotto 561bhdv monopod, manfrotto tripod with 501 head to hold my konova slider with 501 head. Everything was focused with just my hand and no follow focus. I was using the loupe that comes with the Sony fs100 and am looking to make my own soon because I need more magnification to know for certain if its in focus!

Thanks!

Interesting that you set the slope of your knee to +2. Seems that most conventional wisdom thus far is saying to set it to either -1 or -2 to get the most detail and natural rolloff.

hmm.. Well I played with it and really didn't see any difference. I will try the -1/-2 out today and see if I see any difference.. Today I just purchased a Hoodman loupe that fits an ex1 from Adorama.. Hopefully that should fit on my lcd so I can see if stuff is in focus better.. I will take pics after I receive everything!

Thanks for sharing all those images, Serge. I'm trying to figure out how I can safely incorporate my 24-70 with my FS100. Your rail system looks nice.
