Boston-based DVX/HVX group?

Is there a Boston-based group that meets regularly? If not, would there be any interest in starting one?

I had one awhile ago and I could probably get 3-4 folks interested. Let me know when and where you are thinking. I am always down to meet people interested in filmmaking.

I am a total newbie to this art/hobby. I was really asking the question out of self-interest ( :D ) and as a way to get to know folks that I could learn from in the area.

Having said that, it sounds as if people were interested, it would be a good way for folks to meet one another, learn what other folks have in terms of resources, skill sets, techniques, etc. Heck, I think it would be fun just to get together for coffee with folks to talk about the movies.

If other folks really are interested, I could try to start setting something up.

lets start throwing some dates around. I am pretty open in the evenings. Last one was at a restaurant/bar in cambridge but I'm open to anywhere in Boston. whatever works for everyone.

Cambridge is great. I work downtown within a few minutes of South Station so anywhere in the city is fine by me.

Do people have a general preference for particular days because of scheduling? What about a meeting Thursday, September 6th, 7-ish. A coffee house in Cambridge? A bar/restaurant? I'm totally flexible on that one...

That's a great restaurant, I'm not sure if it would be good for a meeting since it is higher end and a busy dinner crowd.

In Central Square (which has redline T access) there are a few decent sized bars. We could do:
The Middle East.
Tavern on the Square
Plough and Stars (smaller but I know the owners)
The enormous Room (more loungey)
Or
1369 Coffee shop

I am up for any on those. My personal preference (nothing more than that) would be for the Plough and Star or 1369. But again, whatever everyone wants to do is cool by me.

I have actually shot a band in the Plough and the owners are really into the art scene in cambridge. The Plough it is (and great Guiness there), let me put some feelers out to a few other folks. Is everyone free in the evening next week? Any bad days?

I'm free every evening of the week of September 3rd. I'm not free this week, and am pretty busy on subsequent weeks.

I don't know if people got together on the 4th. I confess to missing the message from bosindy (dang!).

Would people be interested in getting together again soon? As a new HVX owner, I have lots of questions and would love to talk to folks about what they are up to!

No, it didn't pan out. It would be nice to get together, but things are pretty busy for me right now.

It seems as though the jobs forum ought to be a good place for folks to hook up and actually work on projects, but I don't see much Boston area activity on that forum.
