Borrowing a HVX for variable speed shots only

I was wondering if you guys thing it would be a good idea to shoot my short with a DVX and use a borrowed HVX for a few slomo (higherframe rate) shots. Do you think I could get the 720p slow motion footage to look like the rest of the movie that has been shot on a DVX. I can't afford to shoot the whole thing on a HVX but could afford a day rental. The HVX can't shoot variable frame rate stuff in 480p right?

Thanks

Josh

Well it's still a 1/3" CCD, how much different can it look, aside from some resolution?

Need test results from someone with a camera, but should work. There is a mode for downconverting slow-mo and other variable speed stuff from P2 to mini-dv. My hope is that the HVX can be set up as a close match to dvx when shooting sd.

Cool that's good news . Thanks man, I'm thinking I'm gonna do it. Wish I could afford to rent a HVX for the whole shoot.....or find a DP.
