boom suggestion

Oleg, your posts cracked me up. I love reading them. THough I think Allen is correct. My most recent vdb is about two months old and its a screw to tighten, so maybe after upsetting many people like yourself they may have switched back.

The flow through is an open base with straight cable inserted already for you. This option is given so that you can hold the cable tightly and you do not have to worry about cable noise--basically just another option for you to choose from. The CC is coiled cable on the inside with the connector coming straight out the bottom versus the CCR which has the coiled cable and the connector coming out the side. The Avalon line is Aluminum AND graphite. With the Klassic lines they are more modular meaning the CC and CCR are interchangable. With the Avalon series, the bases are glued on.

i started with a gitzo carbon and i moved on to ktek's but i still kept the gitzo...

i have the ktek 152 with the right angle exit and i got the shortest ktek carbon that they make simply because i got to check one out in person in LA and just loved the idea of having a short carbon boom for the occasions where its super handy to have a nice short internally wired lightweight boom, especially if i have to fly to location as i can carry on my core sound kit and boom pole(s)!

you can't go wrong with ktek. their customer service is unbelievably good!

also spend the couple of $ on a boom tube (or make a pvc case) and your pole will last a long time!
