Boom Recorder.

I just recently purchased a Macbook in order to use Boom Recorder on an upcoming film shoot. After trying for two days I discovered this program is a must have for any serious feature film shoot, granted the sound mixer has the ability to monitor multiple levels at once. Coming from a long background of sound mixing in the music industry it was just keeping up with what was on each audio track. Also I was able to record a -6db pad track for each audio track main track. I am using the Alesis Multimix 8. I can record 8 seperate channels of audio plus a stereo track of the entire mix and once you double the main tracks to include the -6db pad tracks giving me 16 tracks of audio at one time. Boom Recorder can deliver up to 64 channels of digital audio. This is a great program that I highly recomend. I want to say thanks to the members of this forum for mentioning this in thier "Lessons Learned" posts. Phil, Matt, Tim, etc. if I failed to mention all of themembers that use this program.

Yeah I asked him about that and the possibility to upgrade to Mirage Recorder when it is released. He said he had not gotten too far with it as of yet and he has not decided how to or if it will be any upgrade path for it. But I will keep my fingers crossed.

Unusable on snow leopard unfortunately.

Not exactly. It apparently records fine it just doesn't generate the sound reports. So you do loose (for me) a very important function but you still have a big whooping stable recorder. You just have to do manual Sound Reports. Something that you would have to do with any stand alone recorder anyway.

I would double check with VOS but as reported that is the only problem with SL.
