I really only use the Help file in Vegas, and sometimes the PDF manual. Compared to most software, the help file is really comprehensive.
However, a lot of people consider the Vegas book by Douglas Spotted Eagle to be a must-have Vegas book. You can find it on Amazon by searching by his name. He's also done a 4-disc DVD set that many users like. Also, for very introductory learning, Gary Kleiner has released a DVD set that covers the basics of Vegas.
