Getting sick of clicking on links...and once again no footage...10 seconds, anything. lol.
Also nice to see the Super 16 format alive and well, oscar nominated 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' and 'Moonrise Kingdom' are great examples.
In the D16 and maybe others I'm hoping that the digital equivalent of Super 16 stays healthy for many years to come.
Watched Moonrise Kingdom last week on PPV. Very funny movie, great cast, well written, looked great too. The 16mm aesthetic is alive and well in the hands of filmmakers like these.
It's also film. An aesthetic very vulnverable on 16mm. Was a good movie indeed.
Fuji is stopping production of motion picture film this year, Kodak will be the only game in town. A shame really.
Digital Bolex, SI2k, and Ikonoskop are at present the only digital cinema 16mm/S16mm alternatives going forward. (Red too in 2k format). Ultimately I think 4k m4/3 format will become the S16 of the digital era.
DB is at the firmware debugging stage for the production prototype, shouldn't be too much longer.
Jeez, are they still planning to release this? Any camera that takes this long to reach the market, doesn't give me any faith in the aftercare and support.
D.O.A. and it hasn't even arrived.
