Bogen 577 Quick Release with HVX

I tried to connect a 577 Quick Release to my HVX200 and noticed that the quick release knob sits under the camera in a way that makes it difficult to turn and release quickly. The only solution that I could come up with is to mount the plate to the camera backwards so the release is on the other side and not directly under the camera. However, in doing so the brass pin that gose onto the second hole under the camera does not have a place to go and the plate is not secured to the camera as well.

Has anyone come up with a better solution to this issue with the 577 and HVX?
 
I don't have my Bogen QR near me and I forget the number (It's the small plate), but I seem to recall t
hat the locking knob is spring-loaded so that you can adjust it to not hit the tripod head or camera bottom. otherwise remove the brass guide pin. I think it may unscrew.

Just use a little alun key that fits, loosen the knob as monkeyking says, then retighten in required position, and Bingo.
