Bogen 501 Head (Manfrotto) Info

I found this locally.

And I offered up 100 dollars.

I'm curiuos if the head is worht the coin? Haven't used on before. And currently I have an Ok tripod/head. It is a pearstone video tripod.

I can pick it up this afternoon. I was hoping for something that would have a better pan and tilt than my current tripod. I currently shoot with a BMPCC with accessories. And Gh3's, and Canon HDSLR.

A little advice would be great.

A lot of people with $5k heads diss the 503. It's not a terrible head, and it's very tough (I've used an 8' Kessler on mine numerous times).

I don't think it's any smoother than those $140 "fancier" heads from Amazon, but those are pretty flimsy.

A Sachtler ace, some of the Miller DV models... all a step up.
