Bogan, James Bogan - High School Film Assignment

James Bogan

I have to create a film for my Film&TV class for school that showcases uniquely Australian stereotypes. I chose the "bogan" (aussie equivalent of a redneck). So along cames Bogan, James Bogan.

I finished the bulk of the filming today. It's nowhere near the quality of most of the videos on this website. We get a Sony DCR TRV-22. They aren't great, but they do the job for a school film I guess.

The film is basically a spin off James Bond. His arch foe is a guy by the name of "The Soberererer". The Soberererer sells alcohol to school kids advertised as 9% but is only really 4%. So of course, being an Aussie film this isn't acceptable. So James Bogan hunts him down with his invisible voice communications and almost invisible in-beanie camera. Once he finds The Sobererer they have a rock battle (obviously too poor to afford guns in Australia). A rock pierces the Sobererer and he falls to the. James Bogan in turn stabs the crap out of him and then finishes with a cheesy line "Crime doesn't pay, then gives the Soberer a high five...

Whacked I know.;

Here are two stills from todays shoot. Not captured properly (only through USB on my home PC so quality isn't proper - 640x480)

As I keep you updated, it would be great if you could please provide me with feedback on anything you see is wrong/bad/could do better as I am looking at going in to this industry post-schooling.

Thanks :)

Ha ha, I saw the thread title and instantly thought Aussie. I thought this was actually going to be a take on the James Boaggs beer commercial. But dude, the burning question is, "where's the mullet?" come on, a bogan without a mullet is like a fat kid without a cupcake.

Lol, love the analogy. We didn't really have any props to work with except what was lying around our houses. Although, we did give him a fake beard with a permanent marker!

He drives a shopping trolley with a no fear sticker and alloy wheels (pieces of foil sticky taped to the wheels) --- from "Nobody likes a bogan" song.
