Body cap for F3

Now I'm using the newly acquired 18-252 Sony zoom more and more on the F3 I find I need a body cap for the camera when I remove the lens for any reason...Here's the question; Was there a body cap for the Sony Mount on the F3 supplied when the cameras were / are delivered, ( if so I've lost mine ), or are they available as a secondary purchase?....They should be!
As it has it's own cap it seems nuts to have to put the PL adapter back on to the camera to act as the body cap.
Anybody else come up against this?

That's a good question. I think the only thing that be close, would be a EX-3 body cover. Sorry can't find mine to test. Plus it's plastic, if the thickness and diameter works, you could just modify the key.

My camera came with the PL adapter mounted and a cap on the front of it so I don't think they have one for the body unless perhaps it's a service item.

There is a separate cap, but it did not come with the camera. The only reason I know is I found it when arguing back and forth with Sony about the little ears on the F3 mount itself. I will look back through the diagrams and find it. Like the ears, it may have to be ordered from Japan. An YES, I have found that the ears that go on the F3 mount can be bought separately without buying the mount, but they have the be order from Japan. I need to make a separate thread and detail more about this.

I would call Sony before I ordered anything, but look at number 515 on the chart. It is in the front sensor section and looks like it should be the cap for the F3 mount. Although I don't see a cap for the PL mount, so I would check with them to make sure before I ordered one. I have been using the 18-252 as well for a documentary I have been shooting for the History Channel and if I have to remove the lens I usually just grab my Nikon mount and put it on since I have a cap for it. Plus it tends to mount a little quicker than the PL, which always seems to stick a little. If this is not the cap for the F3 mount then there certainly needs to be one.
