Hello.

a while ago when the first pictures of the bogen hi-hat were posted someone volunteered that they would be happy to build the boards, i remember i emailed that person about it but never heard anything?

Matthew,

Our boards are ready for action! I was in St. Augustine this past week on holiday with the family and the DVX, so I apologize if I missed your query! I'm trying to find a link to the thread with the updates and pricing for the Hollywood 18"x18", Jr. 16"x16" and CamShuttle boards...

We're also mfg. appleboxes again. Until we get the link up with PayPal, you can email me to place your order.

P.S. - You were right - the Bogen Hi-Hat is awesome!

i was surprised to see that they were out!

i missed most of the last month, had a little brain surgery and hadn't been online all that much.

do you have pictures of the boards? do they come pre-drilled with the mounting screws?

matthew

Matthew,

Because we're mfg. for universal use, our boards are not pre-drilled. This goes especially for the Bogen, which features the awesome adjustable spread legs!

$28 Full (ACX or better)
$26 Half (ACX or better)
$24 Quarter (ACX or better)
$20 Pancake (Shop Birch / Maple)
$24 Jr. Hi-Hat Board 16x16x3/4" (Shop Birch / Maple)
$30 Hollywood ("Standard") Hi-Hat Board 18x18x3/4" (Shop Birch / Maple)

the reason i asked about pre-drilling or pictures was that i was wondering if there is a way to mount it that is both removable to take the hi-hat off to use it in other ways while still being able to reattach it to the same holes BUT not have hardware on the backside that might scratch anything you put it on?

sounds liike too much to ask for, both easily removable and the ability to not have hardware hanging out the bottom.

i know there are those nuts that you can impale into plywood to give you a threaded surface.

Matthew,

I'll include a set of three 1" and 1½" carriage bolts and nuts with each board - should fit any standard hi-hat out there. To get the rounded head completely below the surface of the bottom of the board, you'll need a forstner bit for a professional-quality countersink.

Cheers,

i guess this is an example of why i was asking about getting the board with the mounting stuff and the holes so it was ready to go.

no offense but i don't know anyone who does woodworking these days and it would be a real hassle to find one.

the original thread started when i mentioned that if you bought a hi-hat and board from film tools they would install the two for you.

i saw that as a great bonus for the above mentioned reason.

Since I have the Bogen hi-hat, I can pre-drill your board for you.

Anyone else who would like their boards pre-drilled and countersunk (at no charge) please send me a trace of the base of your hi-hat, including holes, for accurate drilling.

Cheers,

e

most excellent!

when you have the right gear its a piece of cake, when you don't its a hassle chasing down someone who does!

its like video, we can do magic even with a friends crappy home video into a fairly decent dvd but for me to get a router and make some recessed holes isn't something i can get done easily.

my bogen hi hat and the 100mm short bowl adaptor handle came today!

the hi hat is perfect, it is made exceptionally well and i can't believe how heavy it is.

this has got to be one of the best deals as far as bang for the buck, especially from bogen!

i can't wait to mount this on a board and play with it...

overland, let me know when you get yours and i have some suggestions for the hole pattern.
