a while ago when the first pictures of the bogen hi-hat were posted someone volunteered that they would be happy to build the boards, i remember i emailed that person about it but never heard anything?
Our boards are ready for action! I was in St. Augustine this past week on holiday with the family and the DVX, so I apologize if I missed your query! I'm trying to find a link to the thread with the updates and pricing for the Hollywood 18"x18", Jr. 16"x16" and CamShuttle boards...
We're also mfg. appleboxes again. Until we get the link up with PayPal, you can email me to place your order.
Because we're mfg. for universal use, our boards are not pre-drilled. This goes especially for the Bogen, which features the awesome adjustable spread legs!
$28 Full (ACX or better)
$26 Half (ACX or better)
$24 Quarter (ACX or better)
$20 Pancake (Shop Birch / Maple)
$24 Jr. Hi-Hat Board 16x16x3/4" (Shop Birch / Maple)
$30 Hollywood ("Standard") Hi-Hat Board 18x18x3/4" (Shop Birch / Maple)
the reason i asked about pre-drilling or pictures was that i was wondering if there is a way to mount it that is both removable to take the hi-hat off to use it in other ways while still being able to reattach it to the same holes BUT not have hardware on the backside that might scratch anything you put it on?
sounds liike too much to ask for, both easily removable and the ability to not have hardware hanging out the bottom.
i know there are those nuts that you can impale into plywood to give you a threaded surface.
I'll include a set of three 1" and 1½" carriage bolts and nuts with each board - should fit any standard hi-hat out there. To get the rounded head completely below the surface of the bottom of the board, you'll need a forstner bit for a professional-quality countersink.
Since I have the Bogen hi-hat, I can pre-drill your board for you.
Anyone else who would like their boards pre-drilled and countersunk (at no charge) please send me a trace of the base of your hi-hat, including holes, for accurate drilling.
when you have the right gear its a piece of cake, when you don't its a hassle chasing down someone who does!
its like video, we can do magic even with a friends crappy home video into a fairly decent dvd but for me to get a router and make some recessed holes isn't something i can get done easily.
