BMD HyperDeck Shuttle / Macbook Pro connections

A selling point to my 1 year-old MBP was the express card 34 slot and its speed in transferring fast data. I bought an ExpressCard 34 to SATA adapter for the HyperShuttle and the Kingston 64GB card it would record to.

Running OSX 10.7.4, with the Sonnet ExpressCard's drivers installed, I've not been able to get the Card slot nor the SSD to mount. No lights, no image on the desktop. Any ideas? The Sonnet and Mac user books are shite.

Thru which port are most people transferring their HyperDeck / SSD files to the MacBook pro?

The 'geniuses' at the Apple Store told me they had never known anybody to use card slot before and that I was "in the 1% of users" who would want to use something like that, which was disheartening.

What slots to you all use? Why doesn't my Macbook Pro power up the ExpressCard?

Thanks - John K.

The sonnet card needs drivers to work properly. You can find them on the support section of the sonnet website.

How are you connecting the drive to the expresscard? An eSata dock-style connection? Another type of portable enclosure?

Mainly, my questions are to determine how you are connecting the drive to a power source.
