Blurring out stuff

I've been editing my music video and it's almost done. However, when I showed it to the band in its current state, something was brought to my attention we missed during shooting: the main singer is wearing a big "Virgin" interactive shirt. Since the parts he wear it are pretty prominent, and cover a lot of performance footage where he's singing and there's a lot of tracking and moving. I'm editing in FCP 6 and since it's a low budget video for an unsigned band where getting the rights to the logos in the video aren't feasible, what's the best way to blur out the logos?

id probably finish the edit then come in, duplicate the layer, blur the top one then you can keyframe a soft-edge mask to move with the offending logo

no.

- copy the finished layer.
- paste the new layer on a track directly (frame accurately) above it.
- gausian blur that new layer until you cant make out the logo
- create a soft-edge, keyframable mask (on the new layer) you can move with the logo that only reveals the blurry logo

If you had Adobe Creative Suite 4 production bundle,
You can take it into Premiere Pro CS4, and then export it into photoshop CS4 extended
and edit the stills like photos, then bring it back into premiere, and you are done.
