Blue Ray For Mac Pro

If you can wait 6-9 months, I bet there's gonna be a big price drop in Blu-Ray stuff, now that HDDVD is history. I haven't had any clients yet asking for HD media.

I agree, waiting is probably your best bet. If a client does want HD Media, there are many other options available, that are much cheaper. (Delivery via web, or hard drive)

What's wrong with paying $60 for one disk that could end up being a coaster?

Hey guys.

Here's some info.

MCE, FastMac and Lacie all sell blu ray burners.

DVD SP does not support blu ray authoring or burning, and Apple is tight mouthed about when and if it will.

Encore CS3 on a Mac will author blu ray discs, but as far as I can see not with h.264 encoding.

Blu ray burners are not inexpensive. Most run at least $500.00.

Last year, only 560000 blu ray set tops were sold. The market is just starting to emerge, but it doesn't compare with upconverted set tops running HDMI for SD DVDs.

And please, it isn't BLUE RAY

It is blu-ray™.
