Hello fellow HVX200 users. Just thought I would pass along some information about what looks like a great new film festival that is startingup this year. It is the BLUE A GLobal Oceans Film & COnservation Event. It is the first film festival of its kind in that it is global in scope and focused solely on everything and anything having to do with the oceans.

There will be network commissioners in attendance from around the world. This includes: Discovery, Animal Planet, National Geographic, BBC and others. In addition, there will be some of the worlds leading scientists and filmmakers on hand including Sylvia Earle, Fabien & Celine Cousteau, Steve Burns, Brian Skerry, Michelle Westmoreland.

This is a great opportunity to meet the people who can commission or buy your films, learn about the latest ocean research and events and meet filmmakers from around the world.

An estimated 40 film will be screened at the event. Making it the single biggest ocean related festival of its kind in the world.

BLUE takes place June 11-14, 2009 in historic Savannah, Georgia. You can learn more about the festival here: http://www.blueoceanfilmfestival.org/

Hey Jim,

Do you know if BLUE is still accepting films for the June event? I cannot find this info on their website; pretty critical info I think:)

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Andrew Burke

bikefilms,
Yes, they are still accepting films. The deadline is discussed on the film submission form. FIlms are accepted through April 15th. I'm sure if you FedEx your film today it will be accepted for judging.

Jim,

Our film has been accepted for screening at BLUE Ocean. And more importantly, a rough cut was used by the films subject to gain more funding for his undersea efforts.

Good luck with the festival.

And thanks much for your posting here on DVXUser!

Andrew

Andrew,
Congratulations on being accepted into BLUE. Hope you get a chance to attend the festival and pitch your film to network commissioners while you are here.
