Blue Noise in Blacks - Slowly developing?

Alright, so here is one of the better examples I've been able to see clearly with no question in my mind that something is going on. Look at the curtain on the left had side of the image. In the dark area it should be easy to identify the blue speckling. Now, this is a fluorescent lit room, with a couple of incandescent lights. ISO800, Tokina 16-50mm 2.8, as flat an image as possible from the scene settings including lowered color saturation. This is an ungraded export from FCPX.

My concern is that I've seen it in other footage, and it seems to be getting worse over the past couple months. Is it just a black balance thing? Or any ideas? I feel like i remember a few people who got early models (like mine) needing to get theirs serviced for something like this.

I may post other footage if I see anymore that crops up.

(1) Can you post a crop of just the curtains so it doesn't resize it smaller, I am not seeing what you are talking about.

(2) I had to send mine in for repair, but it was these strange green/magenta patterns in overexposed areas mostly.

(3) How do you like the Tokina 16-50mm F2.8.

Better?

(2) That sucks.

(3) It's a GREAT general purpose lens. I use it for anything "run and gun" and often for the wide shots. This video was shot entirely with it. The opening of this video was as well. It does a good job zooming and focusing. No focus wheel on these shots either. I'm gonna be posting a "Rockumentary" set of videos that we shot office style. All on the Tokina.

It's a great lens, but it sometimes feels like it lacks the "magic" that you can have with other lenses. It has a bit of chroma issues sometimes if stuff is blown out.

If I only could buy one lens for my AF100, this one would be it. It gets fairly wide, has good shallow at 2.8, and the zoom & focus work great. What else do you need?

Are you concerened about the complete lack of focus in that frame grab?
Not really. I think that he leaned his head back for a moment or something (i just happened to grab that frame) which appears blurry here because of focus and motion blur (24fps). There's nothing inherently wrong with the original footage.

And it is 1080p scaled down to 720p FYI.

I had the same issue. I took it to a Panasonic Service Center. Turned out that one of the main boards was failing and needed to be replaced. If you have a warranty, it's covered. Took them less than a week to get it back to me

I remembered someone reporting that they had to do this. I will do some more tests this weekend.

Also Rick, I posted a recent set of videos where you can see the Tokina 16-50mm 2.8 exclusively in action. All shots were with it in these three shorts.
