Blue/Greenscreen

I am just curious as to what results people have had shooting Blue/Green screen with the DVX100a. Any hints, tips? We do a ton of Bluescreen work and I have been shooting on Beta for years. I was reading on this forum that adding an 85B filter helps reduce the noise in the blue channel...

Re: Blue/Greenscreen

The 85b filter will only reduce noise if you are shooting under daylight balanced light. So if you are greenscreening outside, then yes I would suggest the filter, but if you are shooting indoors the filter is not necesary. The whole point of the filter is to shoot with the white balance as close to 3200k as possible. If you are using tungsten balanced lights, then your white balance will already be there, hopefully ;).

Re: Blue/Greenscreen

My green screen shot have been flawless. The lighting is very important. Also be sure to ad at least five feet between the subject and the screen.

Good Luck

IncMEedia....

What software are you using? We use Primatte and Ultimatte and we're not as happy with the results using DV (opposed to Beta or Film). This is for broadcast.
