Blu-ray writer preview

Reg Hardware now has a preview of the new Samsung SH-B022 Blu-ray writer:

So Speed is around 52 minutes to write a full disc of 25 GB, the drive is $850 and a disc is $26....

So in one years time, how much will a blue ray burner be? Let's hope $85 for the drive and $2 per disc. (dual layer)

Hmm..I can get a 250GB harddrive for $110 takes 100 min to fill.
10 x 25GB Blu-ray discs costs $260 and takes 8 hours to fill.
I don't think I'll be an early adopter this time...

Blu-Ray drives have been delayed until July due to copy protection issues; the PS3 is delayed until November.

The new PSP = PS3.

The irony is that Toshiba has been saying that the licensing and manufacturing difficulty & costs makes the Blue Ray not as viable as the HDDVD.

Sony in essence verified this to a degree with the delay of the PS3 due to the items Barry mentioned.

Should turn into a BetaMax vs. VHS kind of fight all over again come the first of the year.:nads:
