I recently got a DVX100A off the forums here. The only problem with it was that the firewire port on the camera was busted. Does anyone know the price to get these fixed? Also somewhere good to have it fixed? Thanks!
Get a cheap consumer camera to capture with. My former DVX had the same problem, although I spent years not knowing it until I tried to do stop action.
But what if you ever want to do a multi cam shoot, or hook it up as a slave unit, or connect it to a hard drive like a firestore or a laptop to capture with. I guess it depends IF you will ever do any of those things. I shoot to a laptop and sync timecode and use a slave cam so I sorta had to fix mine.
Well why would you pay more than just fix it? I bet you could go cheaper than $800 since my repair place is pretty expensive. Try Robb's repair. I have heard they are great and really cheap.
