Blocks in my reds!!

Hey guys - almost everytime I shoot red objects whether they be walls or clothing, the color breaks up into blockiness and smearing. Is there any way to resolve this? Is it a matter of exposure or of settings. It seems to happen in high and low key shots. Here are my settings

Detail -2
Chroma 0
Phase 0
Master Ped. -6
Color Temp 0
Gamma Cine
Matrix Cine

It's because of the 4:1:1 color space in DV. There are a billion posts explaining it, but it's normal and not a problem (it also can't really be "solved", though since even if you remove them with chroma blur, they reappear as soon as you go back to DV).

Or just use the chroma blur plugin in your NLE. You will want to use it only on clips with the offending material and only use the horizontal blur.
