Blinking Cursor

There's just no way I can edit in Vegas 4.0e with the cursor blinking from white to black. Call me obsessive compulsive, but for some reason it makes my head hurt and me very irritated. Weird, but true. I can hardly handle Microsoft Word, but this is too much.

I've searched and searched the options, but I can find no way to turn the blinking off. I'd hate to have to edit in 60i Premiere just because of a blinking cursor...

Well, sweet mother:  if you click in the media pool, or somewhere else other than the timeline, the cursor stops blinking.  It's like a splash of cool water...
Ironically, my dad is a psychologist.
