what cameras would you recommend if you wanted to shoot a feature blair witch style but not spend alot of money on nice cameras, but very good handhelds that produce theatre quality picture, I was thinking along the lines of the canon hv20/30/40.

Do you guys know of any other handicams that are cheap, shoot cinema quality(1080 24), have long battery life, and for the sake of recording time I'm leaning towards memory cards. What is the largest size card they have now? Thanks guys.

I like the HV20s for this, a lot. Small, excellent picture, rugged. can take external sound. not blair witch style but we shot a short film (in Hindi) in New Zealand using these cameras.

Checked out the trailer, that is beautiful footage, almost to nice lol. I've joined the hv20/30/40 forums and have been asking them some specs but they aren't very helpful.. I think the hv20 might be what I go with, if I get the max memory card and battery life I should be good. Thanks man.

Don't forget to give attention to sound also.

Having a dialog in a very buys street with lots of cars will be.... a big hell.... if only recorded with camera mice.

I have the HV30, it's a nice cam. But I'd suggest going with the HV40, the way it handles 24 fps is better.

And yeah, Zak's right, it records to tape, not a memory card.
