Blackout's Box LIVE interactive show with GH13 & live webcam - Trumpet BYTES Apple

Ah yes. Apple II, Commodore and Amiga. I remember the cassette tape data storage. On the Mac Plus, we had no hard drives, so while working on graphics, it required inserting and ejecting floppies continuously for hours to edit and save a project.

I'm a big fan of The Time Tunnel computers ie Air Force SAGE. Even though they were built in 1954, even today they look futuristic! They were vacuum tube computers, later revised into the Airline reservation system.

Today, Intel Macs can run Windows, and I can run Windows programs directly in OSX with Winebottle or Crossover. PC-Macs= no difference.

Holy crap. That's insane. That entire wall to run the Sabre system? I used to hack Sabre when I was 14 to get free plane tickets to fly to these insane hacker parties... I was a wargames kid... I saw that movie and decide - I'M A HACKER!

This may or may not be complete falsehood on my part if any law enforcement agency is watching.

HACKER ALERT: Apple Computer's first product was the highly illegal "Black Box", a device to hack long distance calls on payphones.

That's just one module of the SAGE computer. It needed a whole building to house it and a hundred people to operate it. Imagine needing a hundred people to check your email every day! IBM later built a similar system for SABRE.

It's possible early airline ticket agents were Soviet spies so they could get some valuable computer time:

" Please boughted tiket from me kind sirs, so maynbe I computer cukulated of position NORAD...I meaning Disneylan! Dimitri..er.. Dennis! Check nice Congreessman luggage and please photoiing of inside everything with Polioroids kamera!"

I had one of those box things that was from some hacker 2600 magazine that could play tones and make quarters drop out of pay phones. Quite the cool thing to have in high school. I didn't get my Superhero name "Blackout" bestowed back unto me until late in my freshman year when lightning struck the radio station the first time I went on.
That is when the insanity truly began.

Wow! What a debut. So even then, the Universe was telling you to branch out beyond the confines of radio into multi-dimensional media. ...originally thought you had something to do with the New York blackouts.

No but when the New York blackout happend in 2003, I was doing a shoutcast radio show.... and it just so happened that the blackout happened on a Thursday at 4pm, and my show was Thursday's 9pm to 2am.

Needless to say I was getting SO many hits because my site was blackout.com and everyone and their mom was typing blackout into their search engine and I was top in the ranking at the time - that I had enough time to change the site to a terrorist looking organization that showed maps of how I turned off NYC's power, and demanded New York deliver me ONE slice of fresh authentic New York Sicilian Pizza and I would turn the power back on. I lived in Florida at the time and Pizza in Florida sucks.

It was my largest online audience and prank / practical joke to date with over 6000+ simultaneous shoutcast listeners at once and over 7 million hits in one night who saw the terrorist threats and listen to me in some Al Qaeda voice make demands as I broadcasted islamic radio and then death to pizza hut & dominoes commercials. CNN even mentioned it and I have the clips recorded somewhere. Then when this TIME magazine came out my site again went off
the HOOKAH:

To which my astounding answer was and is: You better believe it beaotches!

Ah! Now that's surfing the ocean of fortuitousness. "A student of the Art of Fame" as Lady Gaga says. Let's see, for that to work for us today, maybe we change the name of the company to "Gadaffi Productions". No, then hordes of angry Egyptians will entomb us in a pyramid. Then the pizzas can't get in. Curses! Back to the drawing board! ( The Libyans called 1-900-Entomb Yer Leader, the Orkin for Mad Dictators. Serving the Entire Middle East )

Hi,

I am too a Windows person but recently I had to enter a mac store - so thanks to your show I now am allright again :) thanks!

How do live-transcode your webcam stream?

Blackout. I have come to the conclusion that you are technically competent but otherwise insane. Ma Brutha!! Soon we shall rule. Oh yez!

Dude!

Awesome.

Are you using wirecast in studio?

Are you using an IP stream for the camera?

If so how are you getting it into the broadcast program as a camera?

Thanks

D

Not sure what wirecast is. I have gone with livestream - which is QUITE pricey ($350 a month and UP) and while some of the results have been great, I was fooled into thinking I could do HD with my wireless rig when it appears now that I can not, so I may dump them. They are trying to push their own proprietary backpack that has 8 3G cards and is insanely priced.
