Too little too late for me. I already sent mine back. Without trigger record over HDMI it's fairly useless for me. ...and no 23.98 with C100. ...and no way to accurately adjust the color. ...and no audio recorded off my 5D ...and what's up with darkening the display when you go to the adjustment screen? How are you supposed to even eyeball those settings when you can't see the results? I know it's so that you can read the text on the menu, but it's completely counterproductive! Agh! Now you got me all wound up over this again!

LOL! Sorry....

No, it IS as good as the hype for only $500 because the quality of the image of that full HD screen is outstanding.

The gripes are all about software features - the lack thereof, or how they are implemented.

But as we've just seen, that can change nearly overnight, and Blackmagic has a long history now of continuing to improve their products' firmware.

It's a brand-name monitor+recorder that sells for $500, it did need these features (without them it can't really be considered a monitor) but if you still find things missing it's probably just too cheap for you

I don't know if some how my monitor has an some newer firmware by accident but I just (like 20 minutes ago) installed the new 1.1 firmware, plugged it into my GH4 and am getting REC trigger in both downconverted 4K and 1080 60p. I am however getting drop frame issues but that is most likely due to the card I am using.

Quick question - is there any way to jam sync timecode with this unit? I would like to be able to extend the recording time of a non-timecode camera but have an external recorder do the timecode. I would want to sync it to a PX270 with timecode in or out. Thanks

So, at first, rec trigger with my GH4 wasn't working, even with firmware 1.1. Then, last night, I started recording with my GH4, went to start the Video Assist, and found that it had triggered properly. Worked all night, no idea why. This was on 1080p23.97, didn't have a chance to test whether it worked with all settings.

Not that I know of, but I don't work with SDI much.

I got my VA 2 weeks ago, i am facing terrible issues. 1. The big one, it loses the signal, goes black & stops recording. I tried this on nikon 750 & lumix GH4, 1st i thaught 10bit or 50pfs issue, but no luck its same.
2. The monitor bightest is way over then the lcd monitor from the camera, which is somehow correct, VA just blows out the highligts.
3.The battery drains too fast, both mounted battery will last less then 1 hr.
4. Drop frame message for 50fps, i guess card issues, maybe i need more then 95Mb/s.
Let me know what are your experince.
