I just ordered one.
Me too, but in the meantime I want to get to the front of the line if it's a runaway hit. If the specs suck, or an early review reveals some serious flaws, then I guess I can always cancel. But in the meantime it just checks off too many boxes on the list to be ignored: good size, ProRes, 1080p resolution, LP-E6 powered, SD cards, $495. What's not to like? What are the other options even at nearly twice the price? They all have some downside like SSD or Cfast for the media, 720p screens, or no screen, power, size, COST.I would really like to know the panel specs before I pre-order. It is driving me nuts not to know the contrast, brightness and color bit depth.
Looks like it's 1080p recording only -- wonder if it downconverts 4K input to a 1080 file?
Just ordered as well, if it stinks I will return it. Had to give it a look for $500
Compared to what???
A same sized/featured Ninja for TWICE the price?
It's actually a serious question because if there is anything else out there at all that can come even remotely close FOR THE PRICE then I really want to know about it.
one thing i find very interesting is that he said it will take in 4K and downconvert/record 1080 from it, that would result in super sharp 1080.
furthermore, if it can downscale 4k on the fly... what else might that hardware be capable of doing with 4k...![]()
I am not comparing it to anything..which is why I am going to give it a look. If it is somehow unusable or just more trouble then its worth (I highly doubt this) then I will send it back. But I expect I will love it, it is exactly what I have been waiting for only thing missing is 4K recording but hey its only $500 bucks.
