BlackMagic - URSA Mini

They are already going down but not fast enough :/ Good thing is that they'll become standard (C300II is a proof) so you will be able to use them across multiple devices.
Bad thing is that no live events with ursa for now :/ Unless you will spend like $5k and will be juggling them each 20minutes.

Or use an external recorder for live events and don't worry about the cards. Yes not really a cheap option either but it allows you to record for longer periods of time non stop.

That could work too. Who knows, maybe Blackmagic will launch a new HyperDeck Shuttle tomorrow too to compliment URSA Mini.

For live-events, I'd shoot 10bit ProResLT in 2K - so long as I get the 15 stops of DR - and assuming URSA has a 10bit ProResLT 2K option...
The most use of 4K I find in live events actually, where there your shots are not always perfect. There should be some temporary solutions for now: field offload devices with hdd/ssd's.

Let's hope so! This or max next year will be finally the one that the whole market will be "4K complete". We will have every solution at different price points - everything that we will need.

I was just doing the same thing haha, but if the Ursa mini comes in at 3K I will prob keep my A7'S

Because $3000 is too much for a camera like the Ursa mini? If that is what you are saying I'm sorry but you don't need a professional camera. I hope what you are saying is $3000 is so cheap that you can afford to buy one and keep your A7S. :)

But it came across a bit different.

SSD has come down a lot in price. A 512GB Samsung 850 (non pro) SSD is less than $200.00 now. That is considerably cheaper than C-fast2.0. Even a 1TB SSD is now easily under $400.00 which is cheaper than most Cfast cards.

new banner went up that i hadn't seen before. no new info on it though.

Looks like a beefier FS7 with Flip out. I'm just waiting to find the gotchas that allow it to be $3K rumored price. I mean it has to have features cut from the Ursa otherwise it would kill the Ursa all together. I bet you they will also announce a sensor upgrade for Ursa with this same 15 stop sensor.

Certainly it will not have the full line of features that the larger Ursa has but the one I would love to know is what lens mount or mounts will it have? Will the mount rather than the sensor be changeable? An like everyone else...what medium will it record to?

It looks so perfect. What do you think, seeing it in real live???

P.s. I see buttons on the evf. Quick buttons to peaking, 1:1?

Sorry for my jumbled post, yes I am saying the latter. If its only 3K I will def not offload my A7's but I might finally get rid of some of my older cams. EDIT: Just saw the pricing so its more than 3K still IN.

They have announced a sensor upgrade to the URSA. Owners should be able to upgrade to the sensor in the new Ursa mini. Supposed to happen early summer.
