Except I use my EOS Tokina @ 11mm on my GH2 all the time and it's nice and wide.

So that's like a 22mm on a FF camera, or to put it another way a diagonal FOV of 86°. To get the same on the new camera you would need a 9.5mm lens. It's getting to be a bit of a stretch, to my mind.

Still a nice camera, and yes that Tokina is great...

Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC HSM might work if you need something wider its a bit slower...... I am going to stick with the tonkina.

Admittedly, not having a very fast wide bothers me but that's just part of the deal.

I wouldnt be surprised of Hot Rod Cameras swiftlu figure out a way to get people what they need. But at a cost of course.

Not having a fast wide is an issue, however with the buzz being so massive, and the unprecedented features at this price point- I'm sure it will get figured out as you suggested. This camera is a deal beyond belief. Let alone the software they are throwing in. I can only imagine the suggestions flying at them at NAB.

Also the option to use B4 MOUNT broadcast lenses Like this, could allow fast 1.4 avergage f-stop lenses.

Emanuel, I never saw that post of yours, that thread was going to fast for me to keep up. I don't like viral threads like that ( there fun for a few days, however ), good info gets lost quickly, drowned in rapid posts- many non nonsensical. I like things to be accurate, to the point and easily accessible for those trying to get the information they need and want. As you can tell with the first page. That other thread is like like a wild rally protest, while the first page in this thread is more more like a conference.

Image is okay but it has a very confusing iris system. Every time I lend it to someone, it confuses the heck out of them.

The one nice thing about the Peleng is that it can take gel filters in the back - they come in different colors with the camera but I got some custom ND filters for it, which was awesome.

If I were buying today there are perhaps better alternate options though at similar prices - Samyang 8mm 3.5?
