Blackbird camera stabilizer from Camera Motion Research. One of the more highly reviewed and regarded, reasonably priced hand-held stabilizer's on the market. This is the basic kit we bought directly from CMR that we ended up not really using, experimented with, but never used regularly. Has spent most of it's life sitting in it's case. This is one of the easier stabilizer's for balance setup with convenient left/right and fore/aft control knobs with clear markings and bubble levels. The assortment of nicely machined counter weights as well as two different horizontal bars makes set up and precision balance much easier than others.
This is the basic kit which includes:
- Blackbird stabilizer including camera mounting plate, gimbal extender, 11 in, and 15 in. horizontal tubes, spare screws, user manual and instructional DVD. Everything needed to fly cameras from 1 to 8 lbs.
Plus we added the padded, die-cut foam custom case:
- Soft case with die-cut foam padding will carry Blackbird and all accessories.
This basic kit sells new from B&H for $469.95 and the case for $64.95 - that's $534.90 brand new. Currently have it on eBay starting at $299 + $25/shipping via PayPal.
