Black vignette on viewfinder - Never seen this before

Has anyone seen a 5D (or Canon in general) with a black vignette produced around the viewfinder? The photos look fine when imported, but not so much on the viewfinder.

Here's a reproduction of what I'm seeing:

Is the camera damaged? Photos show just fine using the LCD live view. Never seen this on the camera before. Suddenly started happening today. Tried with 35mm, 50mm and 70mm lenses. Same thing.

If it's damaged, can you guess the price to repair this?

I appreciate your reading this post. My insurance deductible is pretty harsh, so I'm crossing my fingers on this one.

Yeah this happened on set when we accidentally tried to use an EF lens on the 5D. The focusing screen just plain flopped down and the camera started producing this exact result. Can be fixed easily though. We called Canon in a panic and they walked us through the fixing process over the phone.

Thank you! I called canon yesterday and they had no clue-- Very thankful for a community like this.

Have a great day!
